Egypt rejects US meddling in internal affairs

Egypt says it is "dismayed" with the United States meddling in its internal affairs after Washington called for foreign monitors to observe upcoming parliamentary elections.

A statement released by the Foreign Affairs Ministry on Thursday accused the US of acting like an "overseer" and not respecting Egyptian society. (AP)
