Fifth annual Mediterranean International Wine & Spirit Challenge showcases more than 700 wines, spirits from 25 countries

The fifth annual Mediterranean International Wine & Spirit Challenge, also known as Terravino, will take place around the Dead Sea in Israel, on November 21-27.

The competition will showcase more than 700 wines and spirits from 25 countries, including France, Italy, Spain, Germany, USA, Australia and South Africa, competing for best wine of country, best red and white wine, best kosher Israeli wine and best boutique wine, among others. The festival will take place at the Daniel Dead Sea Hotel in Ein Bokek.

"The Terravino festival is a highly anticipated event that attests to the growing importance of the Israeli wine industry," says Haim Gutin, Israel commissioner for Tourism, North and South America. "It will feature a diverse selection of wines from some of the world's top wine-producing countries."

The festival will also include a weekend of wine-related events, including wine-tasting workshops, gourmet food, an olive oil and cheese fair and lectures from Israeli winemakers, November 25-27.
