Muhammad Ayash, the imam of the al-Bahr Mosque in Jaffa, has been released from custody after 12 days. He was arrested on suspicion of being involved in security offenses. A gag order has been placed on the details of the affair.
Ayash's defense counsel, Attorney Eitan On, told Ynet that "as expected, a strenuous Shin Bet and police investigation ended with nothing. I am certain he will return to social and public activity in his mosque." (Yoav Zitun)
