Italian FM: Palestinian state must be result of dialogue
None
Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini expressed his reservations over a Palestinian plan to unilaterally declare an independent state.
Speaking during a conference in Akko, Frattini said "I have doubts regarding the establishment of a state not as an outcome of a dialogue. The international community expects you to take risks, but does not guarantee that if you take risks you won't stay alone. Israel's right for security is non-negotiable. Italy will not put Israel as risk." (Attila Somfalvi)
