Chief Military Police Officer Major-General Meir Ohana said that 30% of soldiers who end up in military prisons have previous criminal records.
In a debate at the Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee regarding IDF imprisonment conditions Ohana said that some 1,400 soldiers enter military prisons each year and added that this makes the task of accommodating them very complicated. (Hanan Greenberg)
