The government approved a NIS 7.1 million (nearly $2 million) budget for women who have suffered from violence. Part of the money is intended for a rehabilitation plan led by Deputy Minister for the Advancement of Young People, Students and Women, Gila Gamliel (Likud).
"Policy has changed. The idea is to provide them with tools and achieve full, long term rehabilitation," noted Gamliel. "We will work towards providing victimized women with tools so they can stand on their own two feet, integrate in the work force and provide for their children respectfully."
