Approved: NIS 240 million allocated for Council for Higher Education
The Knesset Finance Committee unanimously approved the transfer of 240 million shekels ($65,560,000) to the Council for Higher Education (CHE).The funds will be cut from the 2010 ministries' budget.
The chairman of the CHE planning and budgeting committee Professor Manuel Trachtenberg said that the additional funds were earmarked for research budgets and for offering support to students. (Tomer Velmer)
