Supreme Court: Justice minister can supervise amnesties

An extended panel of nine Supreme Court judges headed by President Dorit Beinish has ruled that the justice minister will be authorize to control and cautiously supervise amnesties granted by the Israeli president.

In this move, the judges overturned their ruling from 2006 which determined that the justice minister's signature was only formal. (Aviad Glickman)
