Evacuation of 2,500 Haifa residents completed
The evacuation of some 2,500 people from Haifa’s Denia neighborhood has been completed, Mayor Yona Yahav told Ynet.
“Initially, the wind pushed the fire towards the neighborhood, but we’re happy to see that in the last hour the wind direction has changed and the flames are moving southward,” he said.
Meanwhile, firefighting teams continue to fight the blaze, which broke out about 16 hours ago. (Ahiya Raved)
