Severe air pollution found in Atlit area, residents warned to stay indoors

The mobile air monitoring system, which was brought by the Environmental Protection Ministry to the Carmel fire area in order to determine the level of air pollution, has found an unusual concentration of contaminants in the Atlit Junction area – 350 microgram particles for a cubed meter of air. Residents were instructed to stay indoors and keep windows shut. In other areas that were tested the air quality allowed for normal activity. (Yael Darel)
