UN chief ‘deeply saddened’ by fire disaster
United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon conveyed a personal message to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, expressing his condolences over the fire disaster in northern Israel.
The UN chief wrote that he is “deeply saddened by the loss of life,” praised the help offered by states in the region, and pledged that the UN will offer its help to Israel “any way it can.” (Yitzhak Benhorin, Washington)
