The Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin announced Sunday the assembly of a special Knesset session which would focus on the Carmel fire disaster to be held on Monday. The session will be held in response to a request made by 61 MKs to discuss the failures of the situation.
Rivlin asked the government to form an announcement on the issue which will be put to a vote at the end of the session – otherwise the parties will vote without its intervention. "The State of Israel is in deep mourning and it is fitting that the Knesset should discuss the national disaster in real time, and will give its opinion on the consequences."
