Cabinet secretary: Wildfire damage estimated at NIS 270 million

Cabinet Secretary Zvi Hauser estimated Sunday that 250 housing units were damaged in the Carmel wildfire in Nir Etzion, Ein Hod, Ein Hawd and Yemin Orde. He noted that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has instructed officials to draw up a plan to restore the residential areas which were burned within 60 days.

Hauser said that the damage caused to property is estimated at NIS 150 million ($41.35 million) while the damage caused to forests and inter-city infrastructure is estimated at NIS 120 million (roughly $33 million). (Ynet)
