Carmel disaster: 219 left homeless

Five authorities in Hof Hacarmel Regional Council together with Tirat Carmel, Usfiya, Daliyat al-Carmel and Haifa reported to the Interior Ministry of damage caused to 247 structures in the Carmel fire disaster. Among these, 75 buildings were completely ruined. It was also reported that 219 residents have become homeless.
In a Knesset Economic Committee debate Interior Ministry official Shuki Amrani said that the damage to the communities is currently estimated at NIS 160 million ($44.11 million). (Zvi Lavi)
