Minister on Carmel fires: We woke the Europeans and they pitched in

Defense Minister Ehud Barak referred Tuesday to the mobilization of international aid during the Carmel fires.
"You can't ignore the help that so many countries offered, even those who have troubled relations with Israel. No country can handle disasters of that magnitude alone. A regional preparedness plan where all participants are a 3-4 hour flight away is essential. We woke countries up at unconventional hours and there wasn't one country that said no to our aid request", Barak said during a Labor party meeting. (Yael Branovsky)
