US: Negotiations not suspended, Israel was busy with fire

US State Department Spokesman Philip Crawley contradicted statements made by Defense minister Ehud Barak who said that the handling of the Israeli-Palestinian negotiations was on hold due to the Wikileaks documents leak.
"Our efforts have not been suspended. We are holding contacts on the issue as we speak. Over the last few days the Israeli government had its hands full with the challenges of fighting the forest fire", Crawley said. He noted that the US government was against a unilateral delaration of a Palestinian state and support of such a declaration, as expressed by Argentina and Brazil. "We don't support those actions".
