Fire and rescue bill passes preliminary reading

The Knesset approved Wednesday the fire and rescue bill, which was only brought up after the Carmel fires, presented by the Shas party in a preliminary reading. The bill had been delayed since the government presented a parallel bill on the issue as was discussed in a government meeting on the subject. (Roni Sofer)
