PM to propose exemptions for ministries dealing with fire repair

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will present to the Knesset on Thursday a law proposal that will grant government ministries dealing with the repair of Carmel fire damages an exemption from the law requiring government contracts to be open for public auction.

As per the proposal, contracts with private companies for projects costing less than NIS 150,000 will be approved by the Construction and Housing Ministry, while contracts for higher sums will be approved by the Prime Minister's Office. (Roni Sofer)
