Hariri trial could start in Sept, Oct 2011

The trial of possible defendants in the 2005 assassination of Lebanese prime minister Rafiq Hariri could start in September or October 2011, the Special Tribunal for Lebanon said on Thursday.

Tribunal Registrar Herman von Hebel told journalists at the tribunal's headquarters that this would be "a best case scenario". He said that if arrests could not be made, the trial could still go ahead and be held in absentia. (Reuters)
