Turkey, Israel disagree on wording of apology for flotilla raid

None

The Turkish representative in the mediation talks between Ankara and Jerusalem held last week said that there is disagreement on Israel's apology draft. Nevertheless, he stressed that the parties wish to start a clean slate.

According to sources close to the negotiations, Turkey has demanded that the apology include an "apology" or a "begging of forgiveness" for May's raid on the Gaza-bound flotilla but Israel wishes only to express "regret" over the events. (AFP)
