France's Sarkozy vows to defend euro
French President Nicolas Sarkozy is vowing after meeting Germany's leader that the two countries will defend the euro.
But he and German Chancellor Angela Merkel are making clear that they still oppose the idea of pan-European bonds - championed by Italy and Luxembourg - and instead are pushing for fiscal discipline. (AP)
