The body of Tel Aviv resident Oded Kiblitski was discovered Saturday morning at the Cervinia ski resort in northern Italy. He apparently died in a skiing accident.
The search for the 34-year-old Kiblitski began early this week when he did not return to his hotel near the resort. The Magnus search and rescue unit said Kiblitski was an experienced skier and was apparently killed during a fall last Saturday. The unit said his body was not found immediately because it had been covered in snow.
Kiblitski was scheduled to return to Israel last Sunday. When he did not check out of his hotel, staffers entered his room but found it empty. They reported him missing to local police.
Avi Zairi of the Israeli Consulate in Rome arrived at the resort, along with Kiblitski's family members, to assist the search efforts.
