PM proposes officially recognizing families of fire victims as bereaved

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the families of the late firefighter Uri Smandayev, teen volunteer firefighter Elad Riven, and the driver of the prison cadet bus David Navon – all of whom were killed in the Carmel fire – should be officially recognized by the state as bereaved families. He also proposed that the firefighter Danny Hayat, who was injured in the fire, should be recognized as an IDF disabled veteran.
The proposal will be decided upon on Sunday. (Attila Somfalvi)
