Norway upgrades title of Palestinian representative to 'ambassador'

Norway has promoted the Palestinian diplomatic representative to the role of ambassador, and upgraded the standing of the Palestinian delegation to 'Diplomatic Mission.' The Israeli Foreign Ministry's Deputy Director of European Affairs Naor Gilon called in urgently the Norwegian ambassador to rebuke him following the move.

A State official told Ynet that the move is a bad omen for the peace process. "It weakens the process instead of strengthening it," he said. (Ronen Medzini)
