Law sources: State comptroller has no right to decide on Danino

State Comptroller Micha Lindenstrauss spoke with Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein following Weinstein's declaration that Yohanan Danino can legally be considered for role of police chief, and expressed his disappointment that Weinstein had not waited for the results of investigations.
Senior legal sources told Ynet the right to declare on this issue lay within the attorney general's remit alone, saying the state comptroller's role was to investigate, not to decide in such cases. (Aviad Glickman)
