Major-General Danino appointed new police commissioner

Internal Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch announced the appointment of Major-General Yohanan Danino as the new police commissioner on Sunday.

Israel's Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein said on Thursday there is no legal hindrance regarding Danino's appointment. Meanwhile, the inspection relating to his performance during the investigation of two police agents in 2006 continues. (Eli Senyor)
