Thailand's government agreed on Tuesday to lift a state of emergency in Bangkok and surrounding provinces, effective Wednesday.
"The cabinet decided to lift the decree because the opposition movement has become more peaceful," Supachai Jaisamut, a government spokesman, told reporters. (Reuters)
