UN official concerned over east Jerusalem demolitions
Maxwell Gaylard, the UN humanitarian coordinator for the Palestinian territories, visited a home in Ras al-Amud, in east Jerusalem, which was demolished by security forces because it had been built illegally.
Gaylard expressed concern over the fact that the 13 residents of the home had not been afforded alternative housing, saying that this was a violation of international law on Israel's part. Gaylard also mentioned that the number of homes demolished has risen by 45% in the past year. (Ynet)
