The Merez faction has submitted a no-confidence vote at the current government over the "waves of hatred and hostility towards foreigners that are washing over the nation," a party member said.
Meretz Chairman Chaim Oron slammed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other Knesset members, saying that they "cannot wash their hands and elude responsibility for the poisoned attitude." He added that "the flood of racist legislation and the absolute devotion to (Foreign Minister) Avigdor Lieberman created an unbearable and dangerous social climate." (Roni Sofer)
