Finance Ministry: Plan to increase firefighting budget will be ready in 2 months

The Finance Ministry's budget director, Udi Nissan, told the Finance Committee that in the next two months a comprehensive plan to increase the firefighting budget will be submitted to the government.

Nissan refused to specify an amount for the budget increase, saying that it will be irresponsible to talk numbers at this point. In the aftermath of the Carmel disaster the Fire Commission estimated that the budget lacks approximately NIS 570 million ($158 million). (Zvi Lavi)
