MK Tzachi Hanegbi (Kadima) has submitted a letter of resignation to Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin on Thursday, following his indictment for perjury. "It's a very sad moment," Rivlin said. "He had a very successful past, and I hope he has a better future."
Hanegbi expressed hope for the future. "At this time, my Knesset membership comes to an end after 22 fascinating years, during which I have had the right to work for the State of Israel," he said. "Whether I will have this right again in the future, I leave it for the State of Israel (to decide). I will make an effort to the best of my ability to be of assistance to Israel outside the walls of this home." (Roni Sofer)
