Soldier badly injured while playing with weapon

Soldiers and commanders in a Combat Engineering brigade tried to cover up the circumstances of a soldier's serious injury about two weeks ago. The soldier was shot in the stomach by a bullet discharged from a comrade's weapon at a post on the northern border. The incident took place while the soldiers were playing with the weapon.

A paramedic decided to reveal the secret, leading to the commanders' suspension and the platoon's closure. A harsh indictment has been filed against the shooting soldier. (Hanan Greenberg)
