Heavy snow strands Christmas travellers in Brussels

Unusually heavy snow caused air traffic chaos in Belgium on Friday, with its main airport closing to travellers arriving for Christmas and severe delays disrupting departing flights.

A spokesman for the airport said no flights would be allowed to land until 4 pm (1500 GMT) and warned travellers to prepare to spend the night in Brussels. (Reuters)
