Sudan says troops kill 40 Darfur rebels
Sudan says government troops have killed at least 40 rebels in a new offensive in the country's troubled Darfur region.
Army Spokesman Capt. Khalid Sawarmy says the rebels were killed during fighting on Friday night, when army forces attacked joint positions of two rebel groups - the Justice and Equality Movement and the Sudan Liberation Movement. (AP)
