Number of injured in train fire rises to 101

Hospitals report that 101 people were injured in the train fire. Three were injured moderately, while the rest were lightly injured. They were evacuated to Meir Hosptial in Kfar Saba, Shiba Hospital in Tel Hashomer, and Bilinson Hospital in Tel Aviv.

Israel Railways CEO Yitzhak Harel estimated that the fire was caused by a short circuit. Addressing a claim that the train doors were late to open, Harel said that it was because the passengers were not familiar with the location of the emergency door handles.
