More than 11,000 African migrants were caught trying to cross the border from Egypt to Israel illegally over the past year, Police Commissioner Dudi Cohen said Tuesday. He noted that a larger amount of infiltrators managed to cross the border without being caught. "The national problem needs a national response," he said.
Cohen stated that he foresees crime spreading outside the infiltrator sector, a situation that will "serve as a breeding ground for abuse, human trafficking, violent incidents, murder and extortion." (Yair Altman)
