Minister, MKs discuss haredi funding issue

At a Hebrew University convention Tuesday, Social Affairs Minister Isaac Herzog addressed the yeshiva funding issue and said that married yeshiva students must join the work force in order to be able to leave the circle of poverty. "Haredi and secular politicians are preventing a solution because opposition is good for both sides," he added.

At the convention, MK Meir Porush (United Torah Judaism) attacked the government and said "as soon as the State has a political opportunity to do so, it will take all funding from the haredim. The Likud doesn't know how to run the government or the State, the way they are running the state is a disgrace." (Attila Somfalvi)
