Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu passed along a draft proposal to the government intended to increase the emergency budgets by NIS 850 million ($239.61 million). According to the proposal, extinguishing services will now be the responsibility of the Public Security Ministry and not the Interior Ministry, and the Defense Ministry will be in charge of preparing for earthquakes.
About NIS 350 million ($98.66 million) will be allocated for civil self-defense, including preparing for earthquakes. An additional NIS 350 million will be allocated for the firefighting services and an areal extinguishment array. (Attila Somfalvi)
