Ben Eliezer to raise minimum wages without Finance Ministry support

Industry, Trade and Labor Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer announced that if the Finance Ministry does not support the law raising minimum wages, he will implement an injunction that will raise the wages without a law.

Earlier he reported that the Finance Ministry stated that such an injunction will not apply the public sector. The president of the Manufacturers Association of Israel and chairman of the Histadrut, Israel's organization of trade unions, announced Sunday a 12% raise in the wages in the manufacturing, security and other industries – to NIS 4,300 a month ($1,215).
