Hungary rejects Western attacks on new media law

Hungary's government rejected Western attacks on its new media law on Monday, saying it remained committed to press freedom and that foreign criticism of the new rules was ill-informed.

Budapest also welcomed the fact that the European Union will review its Media Act, saying it was confident that the law complies with EU standards in all respects. (Reuters)
