Hoelein denies PM sent him to Syria meeting
One of the senior Jewish community members in the United States, Malcolm Hoelein, denied his visit to Syria on Monday was made on behalf of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Hoelein told Ynet he did not go there on behalf of Netanyahu or anyone else. He added he was involved with humanitarian issues of the Jewish people, but refused to elaborate on whether or not he was invited to Damascus by Syrian President Bashar Assad or whether he had met with him.
