American companies claim that Israeli officials demanded to be paid off for allowing them to bring goods into Gaza through the Karni crossing, a classified document released by WikiLeaks revealed.
According to the document the companies stated that they had to wait three to four months to transfer 34 shipments of goods, worth $1.9 million, into the Gaza Strip. They were asked by the checkpoint workers to pay 'special commissions' that were 75 times higher than the normal feel. (Ynet)
