Gates names new US Army chief of staff
The general now heading US Army training is Defense Secretary Robert Gates' choice to be the army chief of staff.
Gates says he has recommended Gen. Martin Dempsey for the job. Dempsey's nomination by President Barack Obama would have to be approved by Congress. (AP)
