Merkel vows to fight for religious freedom
Germany's chancellor has condemned recent attacks against Christians and is vowing to fight for religious freedom around the world. Angela Merkel said in her weekly podcast message Saturday that Germany as a member of the United Nations Security Council will stand up internationally "to help Christians and other religions to obtain a life in freedom."
She added the recent attacks "show us that we have to stand up for religious freedom around the world as one of the great human rights." (AP)
