Magnitude 5.9 earthquake hits central Chile

A 5.9 magnitude earthquake struck central Chile on Monday, about 80 miles (129 kilometres) north north-west of Conception, the US Geological Survey reported.

The quake was at a depth of 15.8 miles (25 kms) the USGS said. No other details were immediately available. (Reuters)
