Ministers against shortening security forces' cooling-off period

The Ministerial Committee on Legislative Affairs rejected a bill submitted by Knesset Members Yoel Hasson (Kadima) and Eitan Cabel (Labor) to shorten the cooling-off period for members of the security forces seeking to join politics after their retirement.

The proposal called for an 18-month cooling-off period instead of three years as it is today. (Aviad Glickman and Ronen Medzini)
