Knesset committee approves citizenship revocation bill

The Knesset's Internal Affairs Committee approved a bill submitted by Knesset Member David Rotem (Yisrael Beiteinu), calling for the revocation of the citizenship of a person convicted of espionage and terrorism.

Arab MKs slammed the proposal during the discussion. A Justice Ministry official said the Shin Bet had reneged on its support for the bill "after examining all the aspects related to the matter." (Roni Sofer)
