Supreme Court President Dorit Beinish said that the Knesset doesn't have the authority to violate Israel's Basic Law. "If harm is done to the basic principles - for the Knesset to announce that the State has stopped being Jewish and democratic - the Knesset doesn't have the mandate. It goes against the Basic Law," she said.
MK Ronnie Bar-On claimed that changing the budget to a biennial cycle was an invalid step because it was done with a temporary order and not by through the accepted procedure of altering the Basic Law that applies to it. (Aviad Glickman)
