Border Guards arrest Palestinian who kidnapped his children

Border Guard officers arrested a Palestinian Gaza resident and his mother, who were caught staying illegally at an apartment in the Israeli Arab village of Jaljulia. A search of the apartment revealed that the man's six children were staying there as well. The kids, aged three to 13, were kidnapped from their mother's home four months ago. The investigation also revealed that the man's mother entered Israel using a permit for a hospital treatment. The permit expired some time ago.

The officers were able to locate the kids' mother, a Palestinian Authority resident. The children were returned to her custody at the Qalqilya checkpoint. (Raanan Ben-Zur)
