Chief Rabbi's office: PM made written commitment to defeat conversion bill

Chief Rabbi Shlomo Amar's office claimed Thursday that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave the office a written commitment stating that he would bring about the defeat of Yisrael Beiteinu's IDF conversion bill, if Rabbi Amar would personally certify the IDF conversions.
The Prime Minister's Office made it clear that the Chief Rabbi's office only received a press announcement stating that Netanyahu had no intention of promoting the IDF conversion bill if the rabbi were to approve the government's decisions on the issue. (Kobi Nahshoni)
